Is Social Media Fake?

I posted  social media, procrastination and stress explaining my experience with social media. After hearing the issue about Essena Oneil claiming that social media is full of people pretending to be someone that they are not, I decided to post my opinion about the topic and explore the view on how social media is fake.
Social media, just like all types of media, can be viewed as a reality when in fact it is just a representation of someone’s life. It’s a figment of someone else reality and many times a spectator can start to believe that it is a complete reality if viewed enough times. This can cause many to be confused about whether social media is fake or not.
In my opinion, social media is not fake however it is not exactly a reality either. It is some ones description of something by portrayal. People interpret things differently for instance a picture has a thousand but that doesn’t mean you will see all the words. Instead you are more likely to see a few words and your friend may see another couple word that you couldn’t interpret from the picture. That doesn’t mean that you or your friend are wrong. It just means that you have a different perspective of things from your friend.
The same with social media, it is a picture that speaks a thousand words however we can only process some of them that will occasionally be different from a majority of people. Therefore many will conclude that social media is actually fake.
Comment below your opinion regarding this topic? Is social media fake and why do you think this?
